Double Nickel

Size: 100g
Description

Double Nickel® 55 is a powerful, broad-spectrum biological fungicide designed to control and suppress fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and downy mildew on various crops, including table grapes and cucurbits. Formulated with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747, this biofungicide offers multiple modes of action, making it ideal for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs, zero residue pest control, and resistance management strategies.

Features

• Broad-Spectrum Disease Control: Double Nickel® 55 is highly effective against powdery mildew on cucurbits and table grapes, as well as downy mildew and other fungal pathogens. Its diverse activity allows it to be incorporated into a variety of crop protection programs.

• Multiple Modes of Action: This biofungicide works by producing antimicrobial metabolites, such as Iturin and Surfactin, that inhibit the growth of fungi and bacteria. It also competes for space and nutrients on plant surfaces, making it difficult for pathogens to establish and thrive.

• Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR): Double Nickel® 55 activates the plant's natural defense mechanisms, enhancing its ability to resist future infections. This makes it a critical tool in long-term disease management.

• Organic Certification: OMRI-listed and compliant with organic farming regulations, Double Nickel® 55 is suitable for use in organic production systems. Its lack of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) ensures it can be applied right up to harvest, making it perfect for crops destined for export markets.

• Stable Formulation: With a shelf life of up to two years at room temperature, Double Nickel® 55 provides consistent results without the risk of expired stock.

How it Works

• Production of Antimicrobial Metabolites: The active ingredient, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D747, produces antimicrobial compounds that directly inhibit the growth of fungal pathogens by damaging their cell walls.

• Competition for Space and Nutrients: By colonizing plant surfaces, Double Nickel® 55 occupies potential infection sites, depriving pathogens of space and nutrients.

• Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR): Double Nickel® 55 triggers ISR, enhancing the plant's immune response and helping it resist future attacks from pathogens.

Application

• Dosage: Apply 1–2 kg/ha as a full-cover foliar spray every 7 days, with a minimum of three applications. Apply as soon as the disease is noticed or as a preventative measure for best results.

• Compatibility: Double Nickel® 55 is compatible with most fertilizers, adjuvants, and pesticides, but avoid using silicone-based spreaders. Stick to spreader-stickers and oil-based products, and avoid tank mixing with copper-based pesticides. Maintain a pH between 6–8 for optimal effectiveness.

Suitable Crops

• Table grapes

• Cucurbits (e.g., zucchini, pumpkins, cucumbers)

• Other crops affected by fungal diseases like powdery mildew and downy mildew
